Outfittersrating.com

Outfittersrating.com has approached the MLOA and CFOA members with a newly developed rating program for hunting lodges, outfitters and destinations. We have been asked to forward this opportunity to our members for the purpose of compiling research and responses on the available program. The below info details the available opportunity and its purpose. If this is of interest to you, please visit their web site at Outfittersrating.com. If you have concerns with this program, please feel free to contact me.

Dear Lodge owners and outfitters,

We are presently in the process of contacting all of the licensed Outfitters and Outfitter Associations in each State and Canadian Province and are getting a great response to our program.

We developed Outfittersrating.com to give anyone the ability to search anywhere in the world for any outfitter and get a basic rating on that individual Outfitter. We created a database and web based survey that allows clients (hunters) of each outfitter to do a simple exit survey. We based the survey on 10 questions that cover all the outfitters services. Clients can complete the easy to use survey in less than 1 minute. After each season, Outfittersrating.com compiles a standard rating for each outfitter.

On our public side of the web page, an individual can search for an outfitter based on any combination of the following criteria: location (Country, State, Province, County, Township, Unit), species, price, dates, type of hunting (guided, non-guided, drop camp), weapon type (gun, bow, other), type of accommodations (tent, cabin, lodge, motel, boat), or they can simply search by an outfitters name. Once they make their search online, outfitters pop up that not only meet their needs, but also contain ratings from best to worst based on the survey results. The rating page can also show a Google map icon that clients click to view your hunting area. You will also have a link attached that connects the client directly to your web page.

The outfitter needs to fill in the following information for each hunt:

1. 1. Name
2. 2. Location (Country, State, Provence, County, Township, Unit)
3. 3. Species
4. 4. Price (blocks of$0-$1000, $2000-$3000 etc.)
5. 5. Dates (months 1-12)
6. 6. Type of hunting (guided, non-guided, drop camp)
7. 7. Weapon type (gun, bow, other)
8. 8. Type of accommodations (tent, cabin, lodge, motel, boat)
9. 9. Typical weather
10. 10. Years in business with a license

The survey questions are as follows:

1. 1. How was the food?
2. 2. How were the accommodations?
3. 3. What condition was the outfitter’s equipment in?
4. 4. Was the outfitter’s staff friendly, courteous, and enjoyable to be around?
5. 5. Were the guides familiar and knowledgeable with the area and the game?
6. 6. Did you see a good quantity of game or evidence there of?
7. 7. Was the hunting area adequate for the number of hunters?
8. 8. Was there enough room and services in camp for the number of hunters?
9. 9. Did the outfitter communicate well before, during and after the hunt?
10. 10. How was the overall experience?

Each of these questions will be given a 1-10 rating and these scores will be automatically tabulated into a general rating. You will still see each line item rating as well.

Outfittersrating.com supplies the public with an unbiased standard rating, which they can use to select an outfitter based on all the fields that are relevant to them and to a quality run business. Each Outfitter can use this as a working tool to see where they can improve or show that they are a quality company. This benefits everyone involved and makes the industry stronger and more reliable.

The amount of free advertising could be staggering. We plan a media blitz this coming winter on a number of the hunting channels and will push everyone in the public who is considering a hunt to visit our web page.

Last but not least this service is FREE! Free to the public and free to the outfitters. We simplified the process and made it quick and easy for both sides to complete.

We plan to have all outfitters in North America on board for this coming fall. Contacts are in progress with each Province and State Association.

This is a huge undertaking but we know it will take the outfitting industry in a new and positive direction. To date every outfitter that we contacted gave us extremely positive feedback and committed to join us in this endeavor.

Please contact me with any comments or questions after you looked this over and let us know if you will participate with us on this industry-changing program.

Sincerely,

Douglas S. Hamric
President
